I, on behalf of Shiwan County Committee,
the Shiwan People' s government and over 100 thousand
Shiwan people, would like to express my sincere congratulations
on the opening of .com and to give my best regards to
friends from all over the world.
As a magic land under the Luofu Mountain and a fertile
soil on the bank of East River, Shiwan, such a beautiful
and prolific land has nourished industrious local people
and ambitious overseas Chinese as well as attracted top
talents from all corners of the world. Since the reform
of opening to the outside world, countless overseas Chinese
have returned back to such a fertile soil to facilitate
the local economy; countless friends have settled on such
a prosperous land to propel the economic development;
and countless smart businessmen have chose Shiwan and
created economic legends one after another. At this moment,
I would like to five a big hand to all these people with
pride and glory.
For years of construction and development, Shiwan has
walked from a farm path to an industrial thoroughfare,
based on its ever-growing extroverted economy, fully developing
private economy and continuously speeding-up welfare paces.
In 2003, it has realized GDP of 12 hundred million Yuan,
total industrial production value of 26.8 hundred million
Yuan, urban resident income of 12,007Yuan, rural resident
income of 5,617Yuan, resident bank deposit of 10.8 hundred
million Yuan and the controllable financial income of
90 million Yuan, which is respectively increasing by 36.4%,
24.6%, 10%, 5%, 30.7% and 14.9%. Shiwan has become a town
with strong economy and prosperous future.
For the future prospect, people in Shiwan are portraying
a new picture of Shiwan with thick ink and dense colors.

increasing to 146 thousand

the administration center to a new place
